Prilenia Therapeutics B.V., a clinical stage biotechnology company focusing on developing novel treatments to slow the progression of neurodegenerative diseases and neurodevelopmental disorders, is looking for a Scientific IP Lead to join the team in Israel. Prilenia is a global company with offices in The Netherlands, Israel and The U.S. We are a flexible, fast-moving team that’s quickly advancing a potential therapy poised to have major impact. Our lead product candidate, pridopidine, holds Orphan Drug Designation in both Huntington’s disease (HD) and ALS in the U.S. and EU, as well as Fast Track designation from the FDA for the treatment of HD. Pridopidine is in a Phase 3 clinical trial for HD and a Phase 2/3 trial for ALS. Our HD trial is fully enrolled ahead of schedule, with results expected in early 2023. If successful, pridopidine could be the only treatment to preserve functional capacity in HD. Prilenia also believes that pridopidine’s mechanism of action as a sigma-1 receptor agonist gives it potential in numerous other neurologic diseases.

Job description:

Reporting to the VP, Head of Research, Prilenia is looking for a Scientific IP Lead to join the scientific team. This is a strategic role that will lead the scientific substantiation of Prilenia’s patent portfolio, drive the creation of new IP applications, and manage Prilenia’s IP operations together with our IP attorneys.

The ideal candidate will be part of a dynamic and growing research and science driven team supporting the development of new drugs for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and neurodevelopmental disorders indications in rare diseases.

This position will also provide scientific content and project management support to our other scientific activities. The role requires working closely with Prilenia’s management, and collaborating with CMC, regulatory and communications leads within the company.

Required qualifications:

• Ph.D. in neuroscience
• Native English speaking and writing
• At least three (3) years experience working in the biotech/pharma industry
• Outstanding writing and communication skills
• Ability to critically analyze and summarize scientific data and create effective arguments
in support of IP strategy
• High attention to detail, diligence and reliability
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex scientific data
• Strong project management skills, with history of driving and meeting timelines
• Independent with strong self-discipline and ability to thrive when given space and
flexibility with minimal structure and guidance
• Demonstrated experience in working remotely and in a global setting
