The Division of General Surgery at Sheba Medical Center, one of Israel's largest surgical services, is renowned for leading a broad range of surgical procedures. Our department is a national and international referral center, ranking among the world's busiest. The Molecular Biology Laboratory, affiliated with the surgical division, is a vibrant and growing lab focused on tumor development and progression, transplant immunology, liver regeneration, and other developmental processes involving immune suppression mechanisms. Our primary goal is to unravel the molecular underpinnings of diseases related to the hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) system, including pancreatic adenocarcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma, and colon cancer with liver metastasis, to enhance patient care and treatment.

Job description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled scientist to lead our laboratory team. Responsibilities include:
Recruiting and managing laboratory personnel, including M.Sc. and Ph.D. students, post-doctoral fellows, and medical doctors in scientific rotations.
Initiating and spearheading new research projects.
Providing mentorship and guidance to students and researchers.
Writing and submitting scientific papers, grant applications, and IRB submissions.
Managing laboratory budgets and assisting in fundraising efforts.

Required qualifications:

Desired skills and experience:
* A Ph.D. from a recognized scientific institute is required; post-doctoral fellowship is an advantage.
* Extensive hands-on experience in molecular biology, including DNA, RNA, and protein work, cell culture, tissue processing, DNA cloning, flow cytometry, cell separation, and conducting animal studies (mouse) is essential.
* Experience in next-generation sequencing and other high-throughput methods is preferred.
* Proficiency in bioinformatics analysis of high-throughput data is a plus.
