* 6+ years of experience leading engineering teams, preferably in deep-tech or research-driven domains
* Strong mentoring and team-building skills
* Solid background in backend systems and software architecture
* Experience with large-scale software development (Python preferred), CI/CD, and cloud/on-prem infrastructure
* Broad knowledge of modern technologies that enhance scalability, reliability, and developer velocity, with a proven ability to evaluate and adopt them effectively
* Familiarity with orchestration tools like Kubernetes, and with distributed or performance-critical systems
* Experience collaborating with research teams or working in scientifically complex environments
* Ability to define and manage technical roadmaps and resource planning
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage across technical, customer-facing, and executive audiences
* Comfortable working in a startup or fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
* Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Mathematics or an advanced degree in Physics is a plus)
