Summary of role and team:
We are looking for a Cultured Biomass Research Assistant to join our R&D department. As a Research Assistant, you will run experiments and culture Future Meat’s cell lines to further improve our processes and products. The team specializes in cell biology and differentiation processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and an eagerness to advance the field of cultured meat. This is a 75%
lab-based (hands-on) position.

Your day-to-day
• Design and execution of various biological research experiments and data analysis in collaboration with Senior Scientists.
• Cell culture lab work: seeding and passaging cell cultures, cell counting, metabolite analysis.
• Culture media preparation.
• Applying and developing different methods for cell differentiation and culture analysis.
• Data collection, documentation, and reporting.
• Results analysis and presentation according to project goals and timeline.

Required qualifications:

The talent we are looking for
Must-Have:
• MSc degree Life Sciences or BSc degree Life Sciences with 1-2 years of experience in a related field.
• Experience with tissue/cell culture and aseptic techniques.
• Passion and a good teamworking attitude, independent thinking, great interpersonal relationships.
• Fast learner, multitasker, well organized with the ability to keep accurate records with maximum attention to details.
• Ability to work in a dynamic and fast changing environment.

Nice to Have:
• Experience with mammalian/animal cell culture, including cell counting.
• Expertise in metabolism and/or cell differentiation processes.
• Experience with biochemical techniques.
• Other cell analytical techniques such as staining methods, microscopy, FACS, etc.
• Familiarity with bioprocessing/biotechnology.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Work experience in a global, food, or startup company.
• Good healthy sense of humor.
